Wake up to the sounds of nature in the comfort of our stone villa at the top of the hill “Fourni” in Archanes. Villa Fyllosia (pronounced fee-loh-sya) was built and decorated with the Cretan tradition and landscape in mind.

Located just 14 km south of the capital city of Heraklion, and only 5 km from the palace of Knossos, our villa is nestled in a private olive grove and a small pine forest. You will enjoy unobstructed views of Heraklion and the island of Dia in the north, Psiloritis mountain in the west, and the Dikti mountain range in the east.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing and quiet retreat or a home base while you explore the many attractions Crete has to offer, Villa Fyllosia has everything you need.

Cretan living

Enjoy a leisurely stroll to the Fourni forest located within walking distance, or choose one of the many country roads to explore the nearby picturesque villages around Mount Giouchta. The town of Archanes is only 2.8 km away, and there you can find multiple restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and a pharmacy in addition to historic churches. There are also multiple museums and archeological sites right in Archanes.

Our amenities

Our private villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open loft space, which is ideal for moments of inspiration and reflection. Relax in our comfy living room and have dinner in our dining room, which seats six guests. We had a stay for a little over three weeks. The place is perfect, very clean, very well kept, great landscape. We had plenty of space and the terraces and garden were spectacular. Very cozy place that combines comfort and traditional architecture. The host Minas was not there to smile and give us food as the super hosts do! Minas works hard to take care of the property and assisted with just about everything. He is pleasant and very polished. Staying at Villa Fyllosia was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Minas was the most generous and gracious host. Every room in the house is well thought-out and comfortable. We enjoyed our days touring around in the garden and nights on the upper porch, watching the sun set and stars come out. The view was amazing, overlooking olive groves, vineyards, and the sea. The beds are very comfortable some of the best sleep weve had in a long time! There were so many thoughtful little touches that made our stay so wonderful. We had most wonderful time at Fyllosia Villas. We enjoyed the calm and peace of the residence. The house are set within a wonderful landscape with all kinds of fruits vegetables and herbs grown around us, which we were free to pick. We picked pears, peppers, onions and aubergine and cook them in the very modern kitchens provided. Minas is extremely friendly and accommodating. He had thought of every little detail to make our stay as pleasurable as possible, from the directions, to kitchen towels. The kitchen and refrigerator were full of foods. We got everything we need. The villa is in a very nice and quiet place with an amazing view. Mr Minas was there to greet us and gave us all the info we needed regarding food and beaches. The place was very clean and equipped with whatever someone would need. The communication was easy and Mr Minas would answer in a matter of a minute. We were blown away by this beautiful Villa and the wonderful hospitality from Minas! we had the most amazing stay making memories for our family. If you are looking for your own little sanctuary this is the place to come for peace, quiet, and relaxation. The Villa itself was clean spacious and extremely comfortable and for the first time ever in Crete, we slept so well! The beds were very comfortable and the temperature of the house was perfect, we didn't use the air conditioning at all !   There are so many places to relax and take time for yourself including the garden, bbq area, outside kitchen, balconies or just relaxing in the living room watching T.V. 
The garden has fruit, vegetables, and herbs that you can collect and use to make delicious food . The views are unbelievable and if you enjoy walking you can walk to the pine forest  
Minas the host was the best host we have ever met, his attention to detail and his kindness is really heartwarming, when we arrived he had prepared a meal for us and had the kitchen stocked with essentials, he organized an outside movie night for us with a projector screen and even cooked for us which was superb and his mum made me a vegetarian meal also. There were bikes and sun loungers for us to use and he had brought us toys for the kids .

This is a gorgeous property and the host has thought of absolutely everything! First, the home is situated above an olive grove with views in all directions.  You can see mountains, the sea, and city lights.  It is a magical location.  The home is beautiful!   The pictures do not do it justice.   It is a modern home built with the best of traditions--thick walls, wood beams, stone stair treads and the works.  It nice to admire the craftsmanship and design of the house.  The furnishings are high quality and unique.  This is NOT an IKEA airbnb---hooray!! There is a very cool BBQ building with the works inside.  This house is beautiful and so comfortable.

The host is amazing.  He cares deeply about the property and hospitality.  The property is expertly maintained and he has thought of everything.   He made us the most wonderful dinner to enjoy on the lovely stone porch.  He also read our profile and catered to our likes--gelato in the freezer on arrival and even brought us a couple of bikes to use.  It was so much fun.  He also left us breakfast in the morning with fresh croissants, fresh, juice and milk.  We were so spoiled and loved every minute of it!
